For months it had been Hollywood's worst kept secret.
But now the truth is finally out about Jennifer Lopez's pregnancy, she appears to be revelling in prospective motherhood.
She was proudly displaying her burgeoning baby bump as she attended a special party for her and husband Marc Anthony - a party that sparked rumours the couple may soon be parents to twins.
hey were attending their own baby shower, a US-style celebration where soon-to-be parents get gifts for their expected children.
The 38-year-old singer and actress looked rosy-cheeked and elegant, despite her fulsome figure, as she donned a coat-dress.
Her party, at the plush rooftop of Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, sparked further speculation that she is expecting twins because some of the guests appeared with gifts wrapped in pink paper, while others had wrapped them in blue.
The speculation was fuelled by rumours that she was ordering designer beds for twins while she was on tour in Miama last year, as well as reportedly getting bedding for them from a luxury designer. She has so far refused to comment on the suggestion.
Among the guests at the baby shower were her mother Guadalupe, and US TV star Diane Sawyer.
The event was hosted by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who produced Lopez in the 2002 movie "Maid in Manhattan".
J-Lo finally put an end to the endless speculation about her pregnancy in November after she confirmed that she and husband of three years Anthony were having a child.
For months Lopez had remained tight-lipped about whether she was having a child - but her favourite designer was less restrained. Close friend Roberto Cavalli let it slip in October that the star was expecting her first child.
He had known knew because he had to constantly had to alter her gowns to accommodate her changing shape.
Cavalli had said this was forcing him to change his designs for her touring costumes.
He admitted in an off-guard moment: "Well, Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby."
She finally broke the news, when she told fans on the last night of her tour in Miami, "Yes I'm pregnant".
Lopez announced at the end of the show "We're expecting" and she and Anthony then kissed on stage. This will be Lopez's first child, but Anthony has three children already from previous relationships.
Before her public admission, talk of pregnancy had been sparked after a wind machine blew up the performer's flimsy top on stage revealing a distinctly rounded stomach – in place of her usually toned midriff.
She had also been seen holding her stomach protectively at one stage show.
Anthony had also stoked whispers of a child during the couple's show in Los Angeles when he sang a special dedication to his wife which included the lyrics, "They say that the road ain't no place to start a family".
